“No other school provides the thoughtful interest in each and every student that NCF provides. The professors, staff, and students all gather around learning, serving, and living life together. I’ve been cared for, called up, and challenged in ways I never guessed and never knew I needed until I came to New College Franklin.”

-Maebree Wylie, Class of 2027

At New College Franklin, we recognize that life is far more than academic learning.

While it is natural to think about reading lists and course charts as the curricular core of a college, at New College we place great emphasis on the “invisible curriculum” of community life. We are spiritual, emotional, and physical beings, and we seek to mirror that in our communal life.

As a student at NCF, you will….

be intentionally discipled.

In the classroom, at coffee shops, and in their homes, our faculty & staff seek to provide mentorship that imparts wisdom and strengthens the faith of our students. On a regular basis, our faculty engage students one-on-one to encourage and teach them in their walk with the Lord. In this, we seek not just well-educated individuals, but true worshippers of the Lord.

make life-long friends.

New College is a close-knit, welcoming community of students learning and living together. United by their shared love of deep discussion & ideas, enjoyment of beautiful things, and desire to pursue Christ, NCF students form friendships that last far beyond their four years here. Rather than impersonal, dorm-style living, our students live together in the surrounding community—either with host families or in apartments, making meals and homes together.

worship in community.

New College is a Christian college, engaged in a common endeavor for the glorification of God and the furthering of His kingdom. As an integral part of our communal worship, we hold daily prayer services, gathering each morning to pray and sing. Worship is a central part of life in community and all students, faculty, and staff are required to be members of local Christian congregations—our students and faculty represent different churches & denominations in the area.

And so much more!

“Book learning alone might be got by lectures and reading; but it is only by studying and disputing,
eating and drinking,
playing and praying
as members of the same collegiate community, in close and constant association with each other and with tutors, that the priceless gift of character could be imparted.”
