Emmie is a teacher and librarian, inspired by the beauty of the every day and the power of story. Her favorite childhood games were school and library.
She is currently the librarian at her alma mater, Percy Priest Elementary, where she takes great joy in sharing stories with her students. She writes a monthly column for BookPage magazine and is a regular contributor to the children’s literature journal, The Horn Book. If she’s not talking, writing, or thinking about picturebooks she is probably hiking with a friend, headed to McKay’s, or rewatching a Nora Ephron movie.
